• Has voted in every election since 1936

• Went along with father to Sacco and Vanzetti's funeral as a child

• After the Depression forced her to quit college, returned when her children started school, earning a bachelor's degree and master's of education

• Taught biology at Lasell College for 25 years

• After retirement, volunteered for years at Boston Museum of Science
