  • Born August 20, 1916

  • Survived a typhoid epidemic in her teens

  • Married in 1945

  • When her youngest child was in elementary school, began college part-time while teaching school

  • Graduated college in 1972

  • Three children, seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren (great-great-grandchild due soon)

 

“I have waited for this day all my life! In honor of those who fought to get women the right to vote, I am proud to cast this vote for the first female president of the United States.”
