  • Born August 1917 in Erie, PA

  • Grew up in the Methodist Church ("like Hillary Clinton")

  • Taught Sunday school and vacation bible school

  • Enjoyed singing her favorite sing-along songs (including "This Little Light of Mine" and "Eensy Weensy Spider") while accompanying on piano

  • Raised family in West Virginia mountains, where her husband owned a business

  • Three children, nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild
